IT’S ALMOST CHRISTMAS! (1.1)

It’s December 11th and that means Christmas is almost here. It snowed and it’s freaking cold out! There’s no stopping it now. Here are some gifts:

Christmas Bop- Marc Bolan & T.Rex

Probably one of the sexiest Christmas songs ever.

Just amazing.

Christmas Tree- Lady GaGa

This doozy of a song featuring Space Cowboy was a download-only single released Dec. 16th 2008. And hey, I can’t help but love her ever since she spewed blood all over the stage in front of millions of MTV pop-junkies at this year’s VMA’s (see below).

VIDEO!? of the Day Pt. 2 (05.20.09)

Breakfast at Sulimay’s

These videos are amazing. Three elderly citizens of Philadelphia reviewing critically acclaimed tracks from Pitchfork. I wish this was on TV instead of American Idol. Perhaps call it Geriatric Idol?

Very, very, very entertaining. Surprisingly insightful at times.

There are several of these videos. All of them are worth watching.

VIDEO!? of the Day (05.20.09)

Such a Night- Performed by Hugh Laurie (House)

Amazing song, written by the one and only Dr. John from his 1973 album “In the Right Place”, performed extremely well from Hugh Laurie.

I hate to say it, but is there anything this guy CAN’T do!?

Enjoy!

Also, if you like the song, make sure you watch Dr. John himself perform it along with The Band in Martin Scorcese’s “The Last Waltz”.

ALBUM OF THE DAY (5.18.09)

Dark Night Of The Soul- Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse

Legendary Danger Mouse is at it again. However the only way to get this album is to pirate it? He is selling a 100+ page book of images by David Lynch to accompany a blank CD-R. He gives a message along with the blank CD that states “Use it as you will.” For fear of being sued by his label (EMI) he is not allowed to officially to release it. I assume more details will come later. But for now, you can hear the tracks, featuring Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, Iggy Pop as well as tons of other amazing artists, at NPR.org.

Top track: Little Girl- Julian Casablancas

ALBUM OF THE DAY (05.17.09)

Bootleg Series, Vol. 6: Live 1964 – Bob Dylan.

Of course. Obviously every album of the day for me is a Bob Dylan album, however this is one that everyone should hear.

Top Track: If You Gotta Go, Go Now.

I’m really going to try to do this more often, if anyone cares. But no promises, if anyone cares.
